    The Commercial fishermen are setting the nets on the Bay, usually pull just at high tide.  Currently off the Sandalwood walkover.  Quite an adventure to watch them pull the “Haul Seine” net in,  take a walk over and enjoy this piece of history on our Bay.

  • Sand Replenishment on the Bay–   weekly updates received by CSBTS-

Jim Wood,  Phillip Roerhs and David Hansen have provided us with information noted.  Mr. Lankford indicated on the March 1 weekly report that the sand haul over Oak Street will be completed at end of the week (March 6/7) and the restoration of the Oak Street vehicular beach access will commence immediately following the truck haul.   No citizen concerns were received the previous week.   A topographic survey of the beach has been scheduled to commence after the truck haul to document the “after placement” condition.

 Check out the information about an Elevation Certificate.  City staff recommended getting one of these if you’d like to possibly reduce your flood insurance costs.  You actual floor elevation is identified by this certificate and based on the height, you may qualify for a lower premium.  Check with your insurance company before getting the certificate.
